Serving Local Produce at the Ferryboat Guest House, Fishguard

Pembrokeshire is still predominantly a farming region, so you would expect to see lots of lovely produced foods. You won’t be disappointed!

Thanks to its mild climate and fertile soils, Pembrokeshire not only grows great produce, but many products are made that are exported worldwide.

Part of visiting Pembrokeshire is to experience and try local produce that enhances every visitor’s experience whilst¬† in turn supporting the local economy. Visits can be made to local producers. Many restaurants use produce grown or made locally and many of these products can be found in farmers markets or local shops.

Each year Pembrokeshire  Council produce a Food Guide which visitors can pick up from visitor centres or food outlets in the county. In this guide are details of local producers can be found.

There are farmers markets every week in Fishgaurd and in Haverfordwest, so you could save some driving and meet a few suppliers in the friendly markets.
